Pulses recipes for weight loss

1-Pressure cooker split mung beans

Ingredients

½ cup split mung beans

1 medium-sized chopped onion

½  teaspoon turmeric powder

1.5 cups water

Salt as required

1 medium-size tomato - chopped

½ inch ginger finely chopped 

¼ teaspoon red chili powder or ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper


For Tempering

1 or 2 green chili - slit

A pinch of asafoetida (optional)

2 to 3 tablespoon oil or ghee or butter

4 to 5 small to medium-sized garlic - crushed lightly

¼ or ½ teaspoon garam masala powder

¼ teaspoon red chili powder or ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

Directions

Step1: In a pressure cooker take the chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, and finely chopped ginger.

 Step2: Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, and water to the cooker and mix it well.

Step3: Pressure cook for 5 to 6 whistles on medium flame.

Step4: After that remove the lid and stir the lentil also add salt according to your taste

Tempering directions

Step1: In the pan heat the oil and fry cumin seeds

Step2: Next add the garlic and green chili, garam masala powder, red chili powder, and asafoetida. switch off the flame.

Step3: Quickly stir and pure the tempering mixture into cooked mung beans

2-pigeon pae (Cajanus cajan) recipe

Ingredients

3 tbsp pigeon pae (Cajanus cajan)

1 large-sized onion

1/4 inch ginger

2 green chilies

3/4 of bottle gourd, Calabash (Lagenaria siceraria)

1 tomato

1/4 tsp black pepper

 1 tsp coconut oil or butter

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 cup of water

pink Himalayan salt as needed

1 tbsp coriander leaves

Directions 

Step1: Into a small bowl add 3 tbs of pigeon pae and soak it for 10-15 mins. You can also soak it in the morning if you want to go outside.

Step2: In the pressure cooker add coconut oil and cumin seed. When the beautiful aroma of cumin comes out add black pepper, ginger, onion, green chilies, salt, turmeric powder, and fry it for 2-3 mins.

Step3: Now add 1 cup of water, bottle ground, and pigeon pae. Mix it and close the cooker.

Step4: Wait for 5 whistles and then take out the lid 

Step5: Smoothly blend it with a stick blender. you can also use any other type of blender

Step6: Garnish it with coriander leaves you can also use any other green leaves vegetable like spinach

3-Healthy chickpea recipe for weight loss

Ingredients

cooked/boiled chickpeas: 2 cups

boiled sweet potatoes: 1/2 cup, chopped

1 tsp coconut oil

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

4 cloves garlic, chopped

1/4 inch ginger, chopped

1/2 onion, chopped

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder

2 chopped tomatoes

1-2 tbsp water

1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt

1/4 tsp black pepper powder

1/2 red capsicum, chopped

1/2 green capsicum, chopped

Directions 

Step1: Take a pan to add coconut oil when it will warm add cumin seed to it

Step2: Now add the following ingredients to the above-mentioned quantity. Garlic, ginger, onion, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin powder and mix well

Step3: Add tomato and 1-2 tbs water. Allow tomato to cook

Step4: Add boiled chickpea and sweet potato and fry it for 3-4 mins 

Step5: In this step add black pepper, green and red capsicum and mix well

Your healthy chickpeas recipe for weight loss is ready. Garnish and serve it.

4-Red split lentil recipe for weight loss

Ingredients
source

1tbs extra virgin olive oil

2 tbs chopped garlic

1 tsp cumin seed

1 green chili

1 tsp chopped ginger

½ cup of pumpkin/butternut squash

½  cup of sliced carrot

1 sliced tomato

Coriander stem

½ cup of red split lentils

Pink salt

¼ turmeric powder

Directions

 

Step1: In a pot add  olive oil and chopped garlic wait until it will turn brown

Step2: Now add cumin seed, green chili, and ginger cook it for a few seconds

Step3: Add pumpkin, sliced carrot, sliced tomato, Coriander stem,  red split lentils, turmeric powder, and salt

Step4: Add 4 cups of water and allow it to cook for 15-20 mins.


Step5: After that cool it and blend you can use any type of blender that is available

Step6: Now pour it again into the pot and boil it you can also use extra water according to your consistency

Step7: Garnish it with black pepper and coriander leaves

You can also add lemon juice to the soup for good taste and result

5-Chickpea salad recipe for weight loss

Ingredients

Carrots, pumpkin, beans

broccoli and capsicum 

Pink salat and black pepper

 boiled chickpeas

Directions

Step1: Add 2 tbs water in a pan and also add carrots, pumpkin, beans ( chopped 1 cup each). Cook for 1 minute

Step2: Now add broccoli and capsicum (3/4 cup each)

Step3: Add Pink salat and black pepper for taste and cook for 1-2 mins.

Step4: Add 1 cup boiled chickpeas and 1 chopped tomato

Step5: Switch off the flame after a few second and add mixed herbs, dry mint, lemon juice
